Today is the last day of Black History Month. There have been the usual facts revealed on PSA type commercials on TV and PBS had aired several programs that focus on the African-American experience. However the news media, both entertainment and serious, have been lacking in special little pieces that honor achievement this month. If my Mother hadn’t said something, I probably wouldn’t have noticed.
Why had this occurred? The Tragic […]

I hear a lot of people often making cracks about “The Vagina Monologues.” This is probably just due to lack of awareness of why it is performed so much. Sure, from an outsider’s perspective, the show is over-exposed and overdone. What most people don’t know is that it is done worldwide this time of year as a part of V-Day– a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. The V-day mission is: “A catalyst that promotes […]

They’re here…
It’s time for the Oscars. Hollywood’s biggest night. The glitz. The glamour. The Bruce Vilanch patter. I’m going to give you the lowdown on who wins what, who looks good and who forgets to thank the spouse/significant other they’re going to break-up with after the ceremony.
The Party Starts Imminently…
I am joined by some of my favorite compatriots in snarkiness, writer Hannah Gersen, artist Samantha […]

Episode 7 -
Bette needs to break up with Jodi. She is her co-worker, she doesn’t like kids, and she said she can’t be monogamous. None of these things were hidden, Jodi has been very up front. If Bette is not careful she will be a wreck on the couch, in stinky PJ’s like Phyllis.
Tina needs to get over herself, she should have been more aggressive in acquiring Lez Girls and less helpful to Jenny. Tina didn’t even want […]
Carol Hartsell, photo by Mindy Tucker
Recently, while doing a stand up set at the always hilarious “Drink at Work” show, I had the rare opportunity to see producer/writer Carol Hartsell perform. Reading a laugh-a minute, well-constructed piece entitled “Dear Every Woman in the Bar Other Than Me” she not only killed, but struck a chord deep inside my novice single-person’s heart. I decided Ms. Hartsell would be a prime subject for a discussion on what is sexy, […]
Brandy Barber and Sara Jo Alloco are the hosts and producers of “The Kissing Booth”, a monthly Variety Show. Since the next one is coming up this Saturday, we asked them to interview each other to give us the inside scoop on their comedic partnership. They willingly obliged:
SARA: Interview me first!
BRANDY: OK - Sara.
SARA: Brandy.
BRANDY: How did you first get involved in comedy?
SARA: I sent […]

Do you like to stare in people’s windows? Or peer into other’s medicine cabinets? Do you bristle when someone confuses the classy and French word “voyeur” with the creepy and oft illegal “stalker? Then you’ll enjoy this monthly ditty called, What’s In Your Fridge? I’ve asked food bloggers, comediennes and other notable ladies about the contents in their refrigerators. Because there are some things you just can’t gauge with high-powdered binoculars.

Peaches (via MySpace) just posted this message looking for stories about the various ways the song “Fuck the Pain Away” has inspired us. She says:
“Im doing a project about the song FUCK THE PAIN AWAY and the different forms
that it has shown up in. I know that it has inspired original art work,
cover versions of the song, fashion designs, tattoo art,
video works and it has been used in major motion pictures like lost in

Episode 6 -
I am so glad that Bette started to learn sign language, but she and Jodi may not be as meant to be as I thought. How rude was that reaction Jodi had to hearing about Angelica. I’m not buying Jodi’s apology either, sooner or later the way she feels about kids will come back up and it won’t lead to anything but problems.
Tina was barely in this episode, what is up with that? […]
