Photographic proof: Amy Rhodes is a hit!

Amy Rhodes’ newest stage show, Three Campaneros, has been running at the
Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in LA for a few months now. Amy was a popular mainstay
of the New York comedy scene up until a year ago when she moved west, and we’ve missed
her since. Since Amy is a pro at promotion and a darling of the press, she’s had more than a
few interviews and reviews of her new show, all glowingly positive as far as […]

100 Girls on Cheap Paper

You’ve gotta be in there somewhere. Artist Tina Berning drew over 100 drawing of all different standards of beauty in women…on crappy paper. This exhibit has been touring the world and it’s here in NYC for a little while longer. Check it out, the paper may be similar to that cheap yellow lined stuff we wrote on in elementary school, but the quality of the art is much greater than any school doodle.

Fancy Pants - The Hazzards

This week’s Fancy Pants profile is of The Hazzards, hilariously adorable ukulele pop stars. Anne Harris and Sydney Maresca have been performing together since 2000 - originally as the Ukes of Hazzard, later shortening their name to The Hazzards. Although their name changed along the way, their sense of style has remained consistent and charming for the past 7 years. How do they do it?? Well, they’ll tell you….

How would you define your costume style?
Anne: Awesome.
Sydney: Matching.

Go Grindhouse Gals!

Zoe Bell is cool

You may not be a fan of the old-fashioned grade B movies, like I am, but you got to appreciate the sheer lady power represented in Grindhouse, the new Rodriquez/Tarantino kitsch-fest double feature. While these films have all the zombie gore, slasher scares, and scantily clad females standard to the genre, there’s something fresh about this take. Let me think what was it? Could it be that I didn’t walk out […]

Sex Toys–A Solution For the Shy

Ahh…sex toys. So many women have them, and so many women want them. It seems that most women aren’t embarrassed to use them, they’re embarrassed to buy them. Rest assured ladies, buying a sex toy does not require you to walk into some sleazy porn store at least ten blocks from your office so you won’t be recognized coming out of it. Last weekend, I went with a friend to Toys in Babeland where we […]

Ohhhhhhhhklahoma! Tonight!

Tonight at 8pm at Galapagos for a measly 5 bucks, Becky Yamamoto presents her one-woman show, “The Oklahoma Project.” Written and performed by Yamamoto, and directed by Aron Epstein, The Oklahoma Project is half Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical Oklahoma, and half…constructed memory of a father Becky’s never met. So jump in that surrey with the fringe on top and head to Brooklyn to laugh at the catharsis!

Livia & Biz on Fearsome

When we needed someone to review the new Fearsome show running at The PIT, we looked no further than Livia Scott and Biz Ellis. Livia is the producer and host of her own variety show, and Biz is a producer for Sketchfest New York (going into their 3rd year). Together they have toured all over the country as one-half of the sketch group MEAT. So, these ladies know their stuff.

LIVIA:
