You’ve gotta be in there somewhere. Artist Tina Berning drew over 100 drawing of all different standards of beauty in women…on crappy paper. This exhibit has been touring the world and it’s here in NYC for a little while longer. Check it out, the paper may be similar to that cheap yellow lined stuff we wrote on in elementary school, but the quality of the art is much greater than any school doodle.

Right Rides - Free Rides for Women on Saturday Nights

Hey Ladies,
I’m assuming we’ve all been here, walking home late at night drunk, sober, or somewhere in between thinking, “maybe i should have left earlier,” or “i wish i had enough money to take a cab, but the driver would have just asked me about rim jobs anyway.” Well, here seems to be a healthy alternative to walking alone. Right Rides (www.rightrides.org). Right Rides is a volunteer driving service that offers, “women, transpeople and gender […]

Tonight Desiree Burch’s 52-Man Pickup at Galapagos! Free!

Tonight you have the opportunity to see Desiree Burch in her solo piece, “52-Man Pickup”. Let us all grab that opportunity with lust and zeal. When Desiree is on stage there’s nothing more I want to do but watch and see what she’ll say next. She’s fucking poetically dirty, but dirty isn’t happening to her. She’s captivating in a conspiratorial welcoming sense, you want to get dirty with her. Desiree is also the host […]
You Know I’m No Good

Aside from the fact that the title of this post CLEARLY refers to me as a person, it’s the title of a song you should download right now from iTunes by a classy dame from across the pond, Amy Winehouse. “You Know I’m No Good” sounds like it was recorded back in the golden age of song when people made music from their damn hearts. THEIR DAMN HEARTS!! […]

Weekend Plans

Summer is almost over - you better make this weekend count. If you haven’t gone to Warm Up at P.S. 1 or the Pool Party at McCarren Pool, you only have two weekends left to do it. Then it will be MONTHS before you’ll get to slide around a mound of sweaty hipsters in American Apparel bikini tops and giant sunglasses! You don’t want to be one of those losers who goes […]
Free Champagne Tonight!
Ah, if only I meant that the way it sounds…
Many of you may have noticed how impressed I am with a free show. Since quitting my job, I have reverted to my college lifestyle of beans’n’rice and free samples. I am courting alcoholism by only drinking at super early, super cheap, happy hours. Worst of all, I cancelled my netflix subscription! What’s a cheap girl to do with her evenings?
Free comedy shows! Tonight’s free show is Champagne at Plan […]
